Machine Learning
I did one month summer internship at CSIR-CIMFR, Nagpur carried out during the period of 4th of July to 3rd of Aug, 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Saurav Rukhaiyar, scientist, Mining technology Division, Nagpur Research Centre, CSIR-CIMFR.
Project work was done on "DEVELOPMENT OF MACHINE LEARNING BASED MODEL FOR PREDICTION OF STRENGTH OF SANDSTONE". Strength and elastic modulus of intact rock is one of the most important index properties. These properties govern the overall stability analysis of the rock structures like tunnel, caverns etc.
Data contained sets of sandstone samples are tested for Uniaxial Compressive Strength (UCS), Young’s Modulus (E), Density, Porosity, Point Load Index (PLI), P-wave velocity, Slake Durability Index (SDI) and Protodyakonov strength index (PSI). The main aim was to minimize the cost and power consumption by predicting accurate strength through simple inputs like Density, Porosity, Point Load Index rather than using destructive methods in labs.
Five different regressor machine learning models were developed by tuning the hyperparameters based on data.
